I have been into birding since the early 80's,when I was avidly twitching everything possible.I left the birding scene in the early 90's,only really going birding when I was abroad on holidays. Then after a telephone call from an old friend to say that there were Waxwings in Cardiff in 2004 the bug bit me again and I have not looked back.I bought my first DSLR in 2008.

I
I sold my Nikon gear last week and moved over to Canon, a 1D MK III, a 300mm f/2.8 is and a 2x mk III converter. The weather improved and phone call to Steve Hinton and we managed a few hours in the Vale hide,a bit slow at times, but great at others. It looks like the little owls have gone and the whitethroats, blackcaps and chiffy's are few and far between in comparison to last year, early days though.
